Trump’s incoming border czar explains why he gets emotional about the border crisis
The incoming border czar is warning sanctuary city officials they will not stop the Trump administration from deporting illegal migrants.
“You’re not going to stop us doing what we’re going to do,” incoming Trump border czar Tom Homan said recently on “The Ingraham Angle.”
“We’ll move them to a state where we can detain them. There is plenty of sheriffs across this country who are willing to give us empty beds. They want the funding, and we can put them in jail all across the country,” he continued. “We’ll have no problem finding a place to detain these people. It’s going to cost money, so we’ve got to have the money to do it, but President Trump’s going to do everything he can to make sure we have the funds to do this. So, they will be arrested, detained, put on an airplane and go home.”
Homan said he gets “emotional” about illegal immigration because he has “seen so much tragedy” after illegal migrants have sexually abused and raped children “as young as 9 years old.”
He mourned the death of Laken Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student who was killed by an illegal immigrant while she was going for a run.
EXPECT TRUMP TO ROLL BACK HABITUALLY ‘DEFRAUDED’ IMMIGRATION PROGRAM, EXPERT SAYS
“I want every mayor, every governor of a sanctuary jurisdiction to listen to that tape, listen to this young girl fight for her life, fight for her breath, trying to survive, terrified,” he said. “I want you to understand what she went through.”
Homan cautioned federal officials to not “cross the line,” pointing to a statute that makes it a federal crime to knowingly harbor illegal immigrants.
“For any governor or mayor who doesn’t want public safety threats taken out of their communities, he should resign your office, because your number-one responsibility is to protect those communities,” he said. “We have ways of finding people… We will find many of these folks. They will be arrested, they’ll be detained and they’ll be removed.”

Homan said there will be due process, but if a federal judge orders someone to be removed, they will be removed.
“For those governors and mayors that are saying they’re going to stop Tom Homan, they’re going to stop President Trump: Shame on you. Your responsibility is to protect your communities, and that’s what we want to do, is protect your community.”
‘Green’ building once ridiculed by Trump being dedicated to Nancy Pelosi
An 18-story government building in California – once referred to as “one of the ugliest structures” in San Francisco by President-elect Trump – will be formally dedicated to former House Speaker Nanci Pelosi next week.
The San Francisco Federal Building, a 234-foot-tall building located in the city’s South of Market neighborhood, had its name changed to “Speaker Nancy Pelosi Federal Building” last year and the high ranking Democrat will be on hand to unveil new signage at a ceremony on Monday, according to Bay City News. The building was named after Pelosi in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023, a $1.7 trillion omnibus spending bill.
The energy efficient “green” building opened in 2007 at a cost of $144 million and consists of stainless steel panels V-shaped panels at the top that fold over its broad concrete frame. It is designed to consume one-third the energy of a typical California office building, use natural light to illuminate 80% of the building and create a healthy environment for workers.
DEMOCRATS PRIVATELY GRIPE ABOUT PELOSI’S ‘DAMAGING’ POST-ELECTION COMMENTS: ‘SHE NEEDS TO TAKE A SEAT’
It was the first U.S. federal building to be LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified. It is a globally recognized rating system that measures the sustainability of a building.
The building houses offices for Pelosi along with the Social Security Administration, Department of Transportation, Department of Labor, Department of Health and Human Services and Department of Agriculture, according to the General Services Administration (GSA) which operates the building.
“The building’s shape and orientation maximize natural airflow for cooling and ventilation and take advantage of natural daylight for the majority of office interiors,” per the GSA website.
Although praised for its energy efficiency, its gray and dull exterior has divided opinions, particularly as it sits across from the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, a Beaux-Arts masterpiece on Seventh Street.
‘ANYBODY COULD HAVE GOTTEN IN:’ PELOSI INSISTS HARRIS WON DEMOCRATIC NOMINATION IN AN ‘OPEN PROCESS’
In 2020, then-President Trump issued an executive order, dubbed “make federal buildings beautiful again,” promoting beautiful federal civic architecture, which mentioned the building as being an unsatisfactory design.
“GSA selected an architect to design the San Francisco Federal Building who describes his designs as ‘art-for-art’s-sake’ architecture, intended primarily for architects to appreciate. While elite architects praised the resulting building, many San Franciscans consider it one of the ugliest structures in their city,” the executive order reads.
The executive order was revoked by President Biden in February 2021.
Last year, workers raised safety concerns about entering and leaving the building due to the proliferation of drug dealers and homeless people congregating outside the building, the San Francisco Standard reported last year.

The publication cited an Aug. 4, 2023 memo, written by the Department of Health and Human Services leader, that said the security issues had gotten so bad that workers were urged to consider working from home. The block where the building sits recorded 525 drug-related incidents in a 12-month period, the publication writes, citing city data.
Pelosi was elected to Congress in 1987 and is one of the most senior Democratic Party leaders and the only woman to serve as Speaker of the House. She represents California’s 12th congressional district, encompassing most of the city of San Francisco. Under her second term as Speaker, the House impeached President-elect Trump twice, but he was acquitted both times by the Senate.
Deep blue San Francisco saw a 7-point swing to Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election.
Tragedy strikes small town just days after entire police force quits
A South Carolina mayor died in a head-on vehicle crash while being “pursued” by law enforcement just days after his town’s entire police department quit, a coroner says.
McColl Mayor George Garner II, 49, was killed Tuesday afternoon “when the vehicle he was driving collided head on with a truck” in Mechanicsville, according to Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee.
“When the incident occurred Mr. Garner was being pursued by a Marlboro County Deputy. The pursuit was not related to any laws being broken. The pursuit was taking place in an effort to protect the wellbeing of Mr. Garner,” Hardee added, without elaborating.
South Carolina Law Enforcement Division spokeswoman Renee Wunderlich told WBTW that the agency had an “active and ongoing” investigation linked to Garner, but could not provide further details. SLED did not immediately respond Saturday to a request for comment by Fox News Digital.
ENTIRE POLICE DEPARTMENT RESIGNS IN SOUTH CAROLINA
The fatal crash happened after the police force in McColl – a town of about 2,000 residents near the state’s border with North Carolina — walked off the job last week.
“It is with a heavy heart that I do confirm my resignation as Chief of Police of the McColl Police Department along with all four of my fellow officers,” Chief Bob Hale wrote on Facebook. “My personal decision to step away from the McColl Police Department can be attributed to repeated acts of harassment, personal attacks on my character, and the overall creation of a hostile work environment perpetuated by a specific Councilman.”
Hale added that the actions of the unnamed councilman made it impossible for the department to function effectively.
“For months, I have endured unwarranted and malicious behavior aimed at undermining my integrity and leadership,” Hale continued in the post. “These actions have not only affected me personally but have also created a toxic atmosphere that has hindered the department’s ability to function effectively. Despite our efforts to address these issues professionally and through appropriate channels, the harassment and hostility have persisted.”
ARREST MADE AFTER HIKER MURDERED IN SMALL MOUNTAIN TOWN SLAYING STAGED AS BEAR ATTACK
In his statement, Hale also alleged that money was cut from the police department’s budget and that other critical police needs were not being fulfilled.
On Friday, Garner confirmed that the town no longer had any police officers and told WMBF News that the community is in a “difficult situation.”
The town then announced Tuesday that “the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Department will be in McColl to answer any call the citizens may have.”
Marlboro County Emergency Management/911 described Garner as “truly a remarkable individual” who “consistently treated everyone with warmth and respect, and his kindness left a lasting impact on those around him.

“On behalf of Marlboro County E911, we extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mayor George Garner. Our hearts are heavy during this difficult time, and we are keeping everyone affected in our thoughts and prayers,” it added in a statement. “May you find comfort and strength in one another as you navigate this profound loss.”
New CDC report shows what happened to the abortion rate after Roe was overturned
The number of abortions in the U.S. only slightly dropped in 2022, the year the Supreme Court overturned Roe. v. Wade, returning the power to make laws on abortion access back to the states.
Abortions declined by just 2% in 2022 compared to 2021, according to new surveillance data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The abortion rate also dipped by 3% and the abortion ratio decreased by 2%.
The total dropped from about 622,000 abortions in 2021 to 609,000 in 2022, the data revealed.
PRO-LIFE GROUPS CAUTIOUS ON RFK JR. NOMINATION AFTER EVOLVING ABORTION VIEWS
This, as Republican-led states have enacted abortion bans with some exceptions such as medical emergencies after the Supreme Court’s 2022 ruling.
Most of the abortions were reported before nine weeks of pregnancy and more than 70% were early medication abortions, which was similar to the numbers from before Roe v. Wade was overturned, according to the data.
More than 6% of abortions happened between 14 and 20 weeks of pregnancy while about 1% were done either at or after 21 weeks of pregnancy, the CDC said in its report.
Women in their 20s made up more than half of abortions, the CDC said.

Liberal Hollywood’s reaction to iconic Cold War film taught director big lesson
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the iconic Cold War thriller “Red Dawn,” a film by a Hollywood conservative that showcased patriotism, a love for the American military and warned of the dangers of gun control. Yet, it also taught the man behind the movie a deep lesson about the mentality of liberal Hollywood.
Amanda Milius, the daughter of the film’s director, spoke to Fox News Digital about the film’s 40th anniversary, its legacy, and what the movie revealed to her dad. Released in 1984, “Red Dawn” told the story of the Soviet Union invading America and fighting a conventional land battle within the USA. It starred some of the most popular actors of the day and has gone on to be regarded as a cultural touchstone of the Cold War era.
Regarding the film’s unabashedly patriotic stance, Amanda Milius told Fox News Digital, “I don’t think Hollywood liked that too much.”
DIRECTOR OF ICONIC COLD WAR THRILLER ‘RED DAWN’ JOHN MILIUS IS ‘VERY HAPPY’ TRUMP WON, DAUGHTER SAYS
RICKY SCHRODER SAYS ‘IT’S EASY TO LOSE SIGHT OF THE LORD’ IN HOLLYWOOD: ‘I NEVER FIT IN’
The younger Milius, a filmmaker and former Trump administration official, related what her father learned from making the movie.
“The lesson that he told myself and my brothers … was Hollywood says all they care about is if the thing makes money, like they’ll, you know, support it,” she said. “Not true. That movie made a great deal of money and they were like, ‘You’re never getting your hands on a camera again until you calm down.’”
She added, “A lot of people claim that ‘Red Dawn’ is the reason that he never got to really finish his career in as prolific of a way as he should have because of its politics … It was not the kind of movie that Hollywood was interested in putting out at that moment.”
John Milius, who also co-wrote “Apocalypse Now,” and directed “Conan the Barbarian,” suffered a stroke in 2010. Asked about his health, Amanda told Fox News Digital that he “can’t speak as well as he used to.” But overall, “He’s doing well … He is doing his thing. He is stable, happy.”
“Red Dawn” premiered on August 10, 1984, and stars Patrick Swayze, Jennifer Grey, Charlie Sheen, C. Thomas Howell, Lea Thompson and Powers Boothe. The film revolves around a mostly high school-aged bunch of teens who fight back after the Russians invade.
Asked to define why the film struck a chord and has resonated for more than a generation, the younger Milius referenced a line from the movie where Swayze’s character sums up why the young people are fighting so desperately to defend America against steep odds. “Because we live here,” he simply explains.
“That [scene] means, ‘We have to do this. We have to take care of the country… This is our responsibility,'” she said. “It’s like this very American idea of, I’m going to go and I just know in my bones that if somebody were to invade my land, I would go and protect it in whatever way I could with my high school friends in a truck.”

John Milius is a former board member of the National Rifle Association (NRA) and “Red Dawn” featured a scene where the Soviets use gun registration lists to confiscate weapons. The younger Milius said of her dad and that scene: “I think ‘Red Dawn’ is the movie where he got to do the most of what he wanted without interference, because there’s so many things that he gets away with in that movie that you could never do today. I mean, just never.”
She called the gun confiscation moment her dad’s warning to “watch out for government overreach” and added, “I think most people love that scene. I love it. I think it was, you know, pretty on point.”
The film instantly created a bond with many conservatives. Former Secretary of State to Ronald Reagan Al Haig complimented the movie, saying to the Los Angeles Herald-Examiner on August 15, 1984, “It captures the stresses of patriotism, the emotions of love and, above all, the futility of war.”
But liberal Hollywood did not respond so well. Famous critic Roger Ebert seethed in his review at the time: “I think this movie is corrupt from beginning to end. And one of the problems I had with it is that it makes a very definite political statement … There was a whole right-wing ideology that the picture itself doesn’t deserve.”
Regarding that take, Amanda Milius wondered, “Can we even imagine a movie that is so left-wing Hollywood would have a problem with it? I mean, I can’t even think of a movie that would be too left wing for Hollywood.” As for the film’s disdain from the left, she added, “That’s exactly what Hollywood thought of the whole thing. Way too patriotic.”
EX-DISNEY STAR GINA CARANO BLASTS ‘UNFORGIVABLE SIN IN HOLLYWOOD’: ‘A PERSON WHO WOULDN’T PERFECTLY CONFORM’
The 2012 remake of “Red Dawn” infamously changed the villains of the movie, after it was shot, from the Chinese to North Koreans. Asked about her dad’s response, she described herself as “under direct orders” not to see it and added, “None of us have even paid a dime to even glance at a frame of it.”
She added they don’t even acknowledge the remake in her house.

For the better part of the last eight years, being a Democrat mayor in a bright blue city has been a pretty easy job. As long as they beat their chests and swore to oppose MAGA, it didn’t matter how bad things were getting, these leaders of the left would be dutifully reinstalled.
But there are real signs that this might all be changing, and opposition to President-elect Donald Trump’s ambitious deportation policies by liberal mayors in so-called sanctuary cities could be the latest game-changer.
FIVE THINGS TO WATCH FOR ON IMMIGRATION AND BORDER SECURITY IN 2025
One does not expect San Francisco to be the place where a national shift to the right in American cities begins, and yet, as soon-to-be former mayor and progressive darling London Breed will tell you, that’s exactly what just happened.
It also occurred in Oakland, where lefty Mayor Sheng Thao was shown the door by voters fed up by the same crime that ravages the city across the bay.
Now, in Denver, Mayor Mike Johnston has promised that he is willing to go to jail to defy what he calls Trump’s “immoral” and “un-American” deportation plans, and even predicted that America would face a “Tiananmen Square” moment, with citizens on the street defying military tanks!
Or something.
Yet, just days later Johnson would walk back at least part of his absurd anti Trump ramblings, saying, “I probably wouldn’t have used that image. That’s the image I hope we can avoid.”
Hope we can avoid? Let’s be completely clear, in no way, shape, or form are the American people going to foment an uprising to stop the Trump administration from deporting violent illegal immigrants. It’s an insane notion.
Donald Trump won the election and improved his numbers in various deep blue cities precisely because he promised to deport violent criminals such as the monster who murdered Laken Riley and the members of the Venezuelan Tren De Aragua gang.
In April of last year, it was reported that Denver, a city of 710,000 souls, had taken in an astounding 40,000 migrants, and spent a staggering $60 million dollars to accommodate them.
In nearby Aurora, illegal immigrant gangs have taken over entire apartment buildings, terrifying residents, and straining law enforcement.
In one of the election’s more stunning moments, ABC News’ Martha Radditz told then Vice Presidential nominee JD Vance, that it was only a “handful of apartment complexes,” to which the Vance famously quipped:
“Martha, do you hear yourself? Only a ‘handful’ of apartment complexes were taken over by Venezuelan gangs, and Donald Trump is the problem, and not Kamala Harris’ open border?”
Ouch.
As absurd as it obviously is, this seems to be the exact same position currently held by Mayor Mike of the Mile High City.
What mayors Breed and Thao learned from their losses this year is that there is a tipping point, even in the most reliably blue cities, there is a moment at which crumbling quality of life has electoral consequences.
Back in August in San Francisco I spoke with Joseph, who runs a salon, and said he and his husband are taxed at 50 percent and also regaled me with tales of the violent crimes he has personally witnessed.

I don’t know if Joseph voted against Breed, but it sure as hell wouldn’t surprise me.
Democratic mayors like Denver’s Johnston need to wake up to the fact that the border crisis is just as destructive to quality of life as the pro-crime policies Breed and Thao were punished for, because the open border literally is a pro-crime policy.
Citizens of Denver, and so many American cities see the tent-laden Bidenvilles set up for migrants, they see the roving bands of unemployed young men, they know people in Aurora scared of the gangs, and they know that American homeless people, including veterans, aren’t being lavished with the benefits migrants are.

If Johnston and Democratic mayors like him wish to avoid the ignominious fate of London Breed and Thao, then they should open their eyes and realize that helping Donald Trump make their cities safer is actually what voters want them to do.
The American people, even in our most liberal cities, do not want four years of bloody resistance to Trump. They already had that. They want a border that is secure and an immigration policy that works.
Any Democratic mayor who does not understand this fundamental dynamic is risking a very long walk down a very short political plank that is coming sooner rather than later.
